Ushahidi

A colleague of mine gave a talk last night on the crowd-source mapping tool Ushahidi (Swahili for “Testimony”). It’s an amazing open source tool originally developed to help visualize violence in Kenya based on reports from mobile devices. Since then it’s been used to track the spread of war or crime in many other areas, including the current conflict in Libya.
